The flights are booked! And there is no refund for the $$ I just spent. Holy Cow. The sticker shock confirmed it, yep. I’m moving to Cambodia…and on January 19th, 2016 to be exact!
There is some serious exhilaration running through my veins right now. Buying a ONE-WAY ticket to Phnom Penh, Cambodia will definitely do it. Returning? Sure. When? Who the HECK knows! But as I keep saying to my relatives, I’m like a boomerang. I go but then I come back.
The inevitable departure is becoming more real. I have left the “honeymoon” phase of the pre-departure planning and entered into the “let’s get stuff DONE” phase! Vaccinations, bring it on. I can take it. Right after I decide what the treat to myself will be after I endure those long, frightful needles. Here’s a thought, what if there was a tip jar for nurses to encourage EXTRA good shot-giving skills? Less pain = more pay. I’ll pay extra!
More updates to come. The flights were my “big spender” piece. Check. Off to Washington, D.C. for Orientation at International Justice Mission Headquarters for a week in January.
*Lodging Needed: I’m looking for free place to stay in D.C. for Jan 8-16 while at orientation. I’ll bring good conversation skills and un-forced humor.
Cheerio (the British farewell, not the cereal)
